Care

What if doctors could use real-world data to better understand how natural treatments work?

An exciting new research project aims to do just that.

Over the next year, a team of naturopathic doctors and researchers will analyze deidentified patient records from naturopathic primary care clinics across the U.S. Funded by RAND Reach, the project uses a shared digital platform (CharmHealth), where experts from the National University of Natural Medicine, Oregon Health & Science University, and Institute for Natural Medicine will study how core naturopathic practices, like nutrition counseling, lifestyle modification, and whole-person care, are documented and how they improve patient health. For example, how much can blood sugar levels improve with healthier everyday habits?

The team will also explore how best to organize the data to support future research.

As the first initiative of its kind in natural medicine, this project will pave the path for stronger studies, better health tracking, and more evidence-based support for personalized care.

Guided by leaders in the naturopathic and integrative medical community

We’re leveraging our unique position and resources to scientifically prove the value of the principles and techniques that make whole person health so effective for patients.
