Bio
As a naturopathic physician and owner of Meridian Medicine in Seattle, Dr. Mona Fahoum focuses on preventive primary care, women’s health, hormones and digestive concerns. Whether you are in need of basic primary care, PMS support, menopausal issues, hypothyroid or IBS, she views healing as a dynamic process, unique to each person, with different treatments appropriate for different patients. This philosophy allows her the flexibility to move easily between conventional and natural treatments.
Dr. Fahoum – who everyone calls Dr. Mona — began her study in medicine at the University of Washington where she received her B.S. in Cellular and Molecular Biology. After exploring the world of research as an undergraduate at the University of Washington, Dr. Mona realized that the key to health is not adequately addressed in the laboratory. Rather, the key is to understand, and apply, those changes to your unique life circumstance.
Dr. Mona went on to study the science of natural medicine at Bastyr University, graduating in 2004 with a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and has her certification in the advanced use of Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement (ABHRT). Outside her primary care practice, she is also the Director of Clinical Services at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health and has been adjunct faculty at Bastyr University.
Professionally, Dr. Mona is Past-President of her state organization, Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians (WANP). She is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP) as well. She has provided lectures and continuing education seminars for these associations, other state associations and regularly appears on podcasts, webinars and interviews for women’s groups, hormone support influencers and others. She is on the medical team for Symphony Natural Health, makers of Femmenessence, where she consults extensively on women’s health and hormones.
Whatever free time is left gets filled with gardening, baking, playing soccer and snowboarding with her kids and husband.
“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.”
