Michelle Simon, PhD, ND

President & CEO

Dr. Simon is a naturopathic doctor with a PhD in biomedical engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She works closely with organizations, committees, and practitioners dedicated to improving the quality and delivery of health care. She has also helped shape and evolve healthcare policy as a member of the Integrative Healthcare Policy Consortium (IHPC) board and the Washington Healthcare Authority Planning Committee.

Dr. Simon is the former director of the Naturopathic Physicians Research Institute and served on the board of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians.

Bio

Dr. Simon is INM’s president and CEO. She is a naturopathic physician and holds a PhD in biomedical engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

In 2019, the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians selected Dr. Simon as Physician of the Year. The Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians named her Champion of Naturopathic Medicine in 2022. She serves on the board of the Integrative Health Policy Consortium (IHPC) and co-chairs IHPC’s Education Committee. Dr. Simon is also a member of the Washington Healthcare Authority Planning Committee. She is a nine-year member of the Washington State Health Technology Clinical Committee, a practitioner panel that examines scientific evidence for safe, effective, and affordable healthcare technologies in state-provided health care. She presents, writes, and advocates for the vital role of person-centeredness within the healthcare system. In her free time, Dr. Simon teaches women to ride motorcycles. She and her husband enjoy exploring the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
