Bio

Kimberly Lord Stewart’s work as an editor, writer, and author has led to global recognition as an investigative food journalist and food-labeling expert. As the author of Eating Between the Lines (St Martins Press 2007), she has been featured in USA Today Weekend, WSJ Smart Money, Shape, CBS, ABC, and NBC television affiliates. She is a contributor to the Oxford Encyclopedia of Food and Drink in America (Oxford 2013). Her past experience includes executive-level editor for Today’s Practitioner, Functional Ingredients, Natural Food Merchandiser, and Dining Out, as well as a food editor for Denver Life, feature contributor for Eater.com, and recipe developer for Optimum Wellness. Stewart is the recipient of two Association of Food Journalist awards in 2004 for food news reporting on olive oil fraud and food security issues and a Jesse Neal Business Journalism award for coverage of genetically modified foods in 2001.

Kimberly Lord Stewart’s career includes teacher, investigative journalist, writer, editor, author, and video producer specializing in food and ingredients, culinary arts, food labeling, recipe development, culinary nutrition, food security, and food social justice issues. She is the co-founder of TodaysPractitioner.com for integrative medical professionals. Previously, she worked as the editor-in-chief and director of content for consumer and trade publications in food, health, and lifestyle.

As the author of Eating Between the Lines and former adjunct professor of food marketing at Johnson and Wales University/Denver, she is frequently a consultant on trends in food, ingredients, and food production. Her investigative food journalism has been recognized with two Association of Food Journalist awards in 2004 for food news reporting on olive oil fraud and food security issues and a Jesse Neal Business Journalism award for coverage of genetically modified foods in 2001.

Stewart holds a Bachelor of Arts with a specialty in Technical Journalism and Health Sciences from Colorado State University.
