Dr. Jacqueline Jacques, with over 20 years in medical nutrition and wellness, has been a pivotal figure in the natural products industry as a founder, speaker, executive, and consultant. She played a key role in Thorne Health Tech’s growth and its public listing in 2021, and co-founded Bariatric Advantage. An author and prolific speaker, Jacqueline has served on various boards, including the United Way of Orange County and the Institute of Natural Medicine. Educated at the National University of Natural Medicine, she also has certifications from Indiana University and the University of Vermont. Jacqueline enjoys baking, skiing, and travel.

Bio

Doctor Jacqueline Jacques is a Naturopathic Doctor with over 20 years of leadership experience in the medical nutrition and wellness industries. Dr Jacques has spent much of her career in the natural products industry as a founder, formulator, speaker, writer, executive, and trusted advisor. Jacqueline’s career is reflective of her cumulative experience in medicine and industry, and her consistent ability to bridge the gap between the two for the purpose of helping organizations succeed.

Jacqueline currently works as a top-tier industry consultant with clients ranging from consumer products start-ups to multinational ingredient suppliers. Her unique expertise in product development, regulatory affairs, medical affairs, and business development allow her to help a diverse set of clients with their strategic growth. Most recently, she was at Thorne Health Tech as Chief Research Officer (Special Situations). During 9 years at Thorne she contributed to significant growth of the business though innovation, partnerships, and integration of strategic acquisitions. She was also part of taking the over 30-year-old company public in 2021. Prior to Thorne, she was co-founder of Bariatric Advantage, which made a successful exit in a 2010 acquisition by Metagenics, Inc.

Jacqueline has spoken nationally and internationally to health professionals and the public alike. She is the author of the book Micronutrition for the Weight Loss Surgery Patient, and has contributed to numerous other professional publications. Additionally, she currently serves or has served on the boards/advisory boards for the United Way of Orange County, Institute of Natural Medicine, Samueli Integrative Health Institute, MycroDose Therapeutics, Sonoran University of Health Sciences, Alkemist Labs, the Obesity Action Coalition, Promax Nutrition, Bodywise International, and the California Naturopathic Doctors Association.

Jacqueline received her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from the National University of Natural Medicine in 1997. She is a Fellow of the Obesity Society and holds a certificate in finance and accounting from the Kelly School of Business at Indiana University. She also holds a specialty certification in Cannabis Science and Medicine from the University of Vermont. She additionally is the member of several professional organizations including the American Herbal Products Association, the Society of Cannabis Clinicians, The Obesity Society, Women in Bio, and Women in Nutraceuticals.

Personally, Jacqueline has two grown sons, two dogs and a loving partner named Dave. She enjoys baking, travel, skiing, and the beach, and is lucky enough to be able to engage in all of those things on a regular basis.
