INM and ANA Launch Collaboration to Promote Personalized Nutrition in Support of Whole Person Health

INM is partnering with the American Nutrition Association (ANA) to promote personalized nutrition strategies that support a whole person health approach and seek to improve health outcomes nationwide. The organizations will work together on several initiatives, including developing a media-trained “speakers bureau,” as part of INM’s emerging Whole Person Health Action Network.

A central goal of the Network is to provide strategic messaging alignment for complementary and integrative health providers and associations that can support a whole person approach to health, but remain underutilized in U.S. healthcare systems.

This partnership leverages the many alignments between INM and ANA, a leading organization driving healthcare change in the United States through personalized nutrition grounded in science, delivered by skilled professionals, and powered by people. The ANA, known for its nationally recognized credential for advanced nutrition practitioners, the Certified Nutrition Specialist® (CNS®), is expanding a workforce that can effectively support whole person and patient-centered healthcare models.

Focusing on shared goals, INM and ANA aim to pursue four key objectives:

  1. Collaborate and share strategic organizational insights to help advance whole person health.
  2. Align with other healthcare stakeholders to improve messaging, terminology, and communications around whole person health and whole person approaches to care.
  3. Help bring awareness to the work ANA and Certified Nutrition Specialists are doing to support whole person approaches to health.
  4. Develop consumer education and materials to expand awareness around individualized nutrition as a path to reversing chronic disease and achieving good health.

“We are excited to work with the ANA and their workforce of  CNSs,” says INM President and CEO Michelle Simon, PhD, ND. “They stand ready to bring the fundamental element of nutrition to whole person health provider teams nationwide.”

ANA’s CEO, Corinne Bush, MS, CNS, says teamwork is at the heart of delivering health care that treats the whole person. “We are thrilled to partner with INM to advance personalized nutrition as a cornerstone of whole person health. This collaboration amplifies our mission to empower healthcare providers and individuals with science-based nutrition strategies, driving transformative health outcomes across the nation.”
