Clear the Air With a DIY Filtration System
Step by Step Directions:
Materials:
- A 20-inch by 20-inch floor fan (available at most hardware stores)
- A MERV 13 (or higher) air filter (FPR 10 or equivalent)
Steps:
- Attach the filter to the back of the fan with packing tape, making sure the filter’s arrow points toward the back side of the fan.
- One filter is all you need—no need to layer multiple filters, as this can strain the fan.
- Place the fan* in the room you want to filter, running it on low for effective air purification.
- Use multiple fans for larger spaces.
*Only run the fan when someone is home, and keep children’s hands away from moving parts.
