Intern needed at Virginia Garcia’s Cornelius Clinic to assist with brand new Holistic Health and Wellness course for patients. Commitment of 5-10 hours per week for 3-4 months, some work can be completed off-site. Come join this innovative and collaborative team and make a difference in the lives of our patients!
Internship responsibilities include:
- Layout and formatting of course materials
- Translation
- Data collection and tracking
- Research guest speakers and presenters
- Research and identify community partners who may be able to provide discounts on foods, gym memberships, fitness classes, etc. for class participants
- Assisting with grant research and evaluation measures
Requirements of applicants:
- Applicants must be bilingual in Spanish and English with the ability to translate English into Spanish and write in Spanish
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team member
- Self-driven and responsible
- Creative and experienced in developing course materials and handouts
- Ability to work on-site in Cornelius as needed
- Student of public health, nutrition, or related field, with a strong interest in serving underserved populations

INM Internship Position
Title: Social Networking Officer
The Social Networking officer internship with the Institute of Natural Medicine is intended to support the development of effective interaction and communication with potential sponsors, partners and media relation in Portland, OR, and beyond. As the INM grows and expands, the needs to communicate effectively with the health industry professionals and the community in general, also increase exponentially and the Institute needs to meet those demands, if it wants to remain competitive with other health organizations and professional institutions. Potential sources of information and online networks, such as twitter, facebook, blogs and our website can be fully utilized to capture patient enquiries and needs in regards to naturopathic medicine and the services and the benefits we offer.
The Intern will have excellent communication skills and will be committed to learn and experience in the field of natural medicine:
- The main task is to build and strengthen local and national networking relationships.
He/she will work well and collaboratively with the webmaster to increase our exposure and attraction to patients, health practitioners and web surfers. Patients will be easily attracted as they often need their health concerns and questions answered, and doctors are not easily accessible to meet their needs.
